![]() ![]() ![]() I already know I am biased before even committing the first save of my work, and doubtless there are more biases of which I am entirely unaware. The Magaavish, my own people, have been allies with the Mirrians, Vastruuri, and Terrans for «centuries», we four comprising the Orion Tetrad. Theodore al-Rahim, Terran, historian and ambassador (Ravak, colony of the Magaavish)Īllow me to preface this by stating that I’m not sure I’m the best suited to attempt such an analysis. Timescales and race-specific terminology have been converted to «human equivalents» for clarity. NOTE: Translated from original Magaavish for Terran archival purposes. I might wind up posting it here if this turns into an ongoing series, though - and no promises on that, I’m far too aware of my tendency to start on projects and just sort of never get around to properly finishing them.> <.< It is distinctly not HFY, given that humanity is in the story for all of one paragraph near the end. I do have another story from this continuity, though it focuses on the Magaavish and Mirrian first contact and is more of a parallel story than an actual sequel. This is basically a commentary by a third race that happens several hundred years later. This is not a proper Part 2 to the first story, but it does come from the same continuity. If anything here is suspiciously similar to anything from other stories, I swear to that it’s just a coincidence. Like, the most recent story I’ve read was from something like 2016 or so, I think. This is a very sideways take on HFY, and I’ll be honest, I’m not really sure it actually qualifies.Īlso, just to get this out of the way: I haven’t read any recent HFY. Shoutout to u/Raketenmann105 for giving the grey cells a nudge. I wanted to give that idea a deeper look. This was inspired by one of the comments in my previous post, A Mutual First Contact, wherein someone expressed surprise at the two races being friends after what had happened in their first contact until it came to light that they were deathworlders. ![]()
